Tori With Red Drape is a pastel done on Pastelmat. It is 11 x 14 inches.

This was done from a photo that this lovel model allowed me to use. There was no draperies in the photo and it was a black and white. From other photos of her I was able to better understand her complexion. She is very lovely and I feel her face has a great deal of intelligence beyond the simple beauty.

The colors I chose for the drapes were picked because I did want to keep everything sort of warm. Even the pruple has a great deal of reds hidden in it. I think those are mor appropriate for a nude figure with blonde hair.

The following are the steps to achieve the final painting. All of this painting was done using Stabilo Carbothello pencils. The whole painting took about 30 hours.

This is after the initial drawing is done and I have added some base layers of pastel in combinations of green, brown and pale yellows.

Here I have added more underpainting to increase the contrast using more of the lighter tones of pale yellows or pinks.

Now I have started working on the final skin tones, This process takes the longest but is also the most fun and rewarding.
