This is another of my swirly abstract landscapes. This was again from driving around central Ohio in autumn, and stopping to take photos of interesting scenes. I look at these photos in the studio, and start by doing very rough sketches in charcoal on newsprint to get the composition without color. I then take it to the easel on canvas and as I paint I feel the colors more than trying to think them out. I hope the results are what I felt about the scene as I tried to imagine what I saw when I first saw the scene.
